Cookie Policy

This Cookie Policy explains how Clubby uses cookies and similar technologies, such as your browser's local storage, on this website and in the Clubby app. It should be read together with our Privacy Policy.

1. What Cookies and Local Storage Are

Cookies are small text files that a website asks your browser to keep and send back on later visits. Local storage is a similar space in your browser where a site can keep small pieces of data; unlike a cookie, what is kept there is not sent to the site with every request. We use both only in the ways described below.

2. This Website

The pages of this website, including the blog and the legal pages, are built to work without cookies.

• Cookies: we do not set any cookies on this website.
• Your theme: if you use the light and dark switch, your choice is saved in your browser's local storage so the site looks the same on your next visit. It stays on your device and is not sent to us.
• Analytics: we use Vercel Web Analytics to count visits and see which pages are read. It does not use cookies and does not follow you across other websites. Visitors are told apart by a hash made from the incoming request, which is discarded after a day.
• Embedded videos: some blog posts show a video from TikTok. Loading such a post loads TikTok's player, and TikTok may set its own cookies and collect information under its own policies.

3. The Clubby App

When you create an account or sign in to the Clubby app, the following are used.

• Sign-in cookies (their names begin with sb-). Set by Clubby, through our sign-in provider, Supabase. Strictly necessary. They keep you signed in and protect your account. They are renewed while you use the app and removed when you sign out.
• Payment cookies, such as __stripe_mid and __stripe_sid. Set by Stripe. Set when a checkout opens, to process the payment and prevent fraud. Stripe keeps the first for up to a year and the second for about 30 minutes.
• Cookies on a hosted checkout page. Set by Dodo Payments. Some purchases are completed on a page run by Dodo Payments, which sets its own cookies there under its own policy.
• Cookies on Google’s sign-in pages. Set by Google. Only if you choose to sign in with Google. They are set by Google on its own pages.
• Preferences and work in progress (local storage). Set by Clubby. Your currency, interface settings such as an open or closed panel, drafts you have not saved yet, and a note of whether you have made a purchase. They stay on your device until you clear them.

The app also uses Vercel Web Analytics, in the cookie-free way described above.

4. What We Do Not Use

We do not use advertising cookies, and we do not use cookies to track you across other websites. We do not sell information collected through cookies or local storage.

5. Your Choices

• You can block or delete cookies and clear local storage in your browser's settings, for all sites or for ours alone.
• If you block the sign-in cookies, you will not be able to stay signed in to the app.
• Clearing local storage resets your theme and currency and discards any draft that has not been saved.
• Signing out of the app removes the sign-in cookies.

6. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy when the technologies we use change. We will post the new version on this page and update the "Last updated" date above.
